Unlike most of the traditional file-sharing services, OWL Transfer ensures that only the sender and the intended recipient can access shared files. No third-party access.
Depending on your needs, you can share:
secure downloadable files
or documents available for one-time viewing (OneTimeView)
When PGP encryption is enabled, transfers are protected with true end-to-end encryption.

Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) is a hybrid encryption system widely recognized as one of the most reliable methods for securing files and communications.
OWL Transfer uses an advanced PGP implementation that enables true end-to-end encryption when the feature is activated.
Key Management
Each user is assigned a public key and a private key.
Public key: used exclusively within OWL Transfer’s infrastructure and never publicly exposed.
Private key: remains entirely under your responsibility.
Two options are available:
We never store your private key: you will be asked to enter it for every send or receive action.
We securely store your private key: OWL Transfer is technically unable to read it, allowing your encrypted sends and receives to be fully automated.
In all cases, you are responsible for keeping a backup copy of your private key.
PGP encryption is available with the Premium and Premium+ plans.
Recipients can decrypt PGP-encrypted files without a paid subscription.
OneTimeView allows you to share a document for a single viewing only.
The file:
can be opened once only,
is automatically destroyed after viewing.
This mode relies on advanced client-side protection mechanisms.
As with any client-side protection technology, absolute effectiveness cannot be guaranteed in 100% of cases.
For enhanced security, OneTimeView can be combined with:

OWL Transfer uses advanced security standards:
SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit and AES 256-bit encryption at rest.
Optional PGP encryption for Pro users.
Files are hosted on servers located in the EU for users within the European Union.
Transfer links are temporary and password-protected; files are auto-deleted after expiry.

⏳ Data Retention
Data retention periods are defined in our Terms of Use:
Transferred files: auto-deleted after 72 hours or up to 30 days for Pro users
Inactive accounts: deleted after 12 months of inactivity
Personal data: deleted upon account closure or upon request
